Default low income senior housing?

Are there any low income senior apartment complexes in the Raleigh/Cary/Apex area? I haven't been able to find any for my mom that base the amount of rent on a person's income. Anyone have any ideas where I can look for this?

There is actually a place in Fuquay Varina, I think it's called Quail Hill. THere are 3 aparment complexes right next to each other with 3 different names but I can't remember the other two names right now. We are looking there for my in-laws and they seemed to be the nicest that I could find for the money. My friend's Grandma lives there and she really likes it. It's very quiet and seems to be nicely kept. It's right off of 401 pretty much across from the Walmart (soon to be Sam's) shopping center. There is also a place on Maynard Road in Cary that is very nice and is more of an apartment building. I'm not sure if that's low income or not but it should be affordable since my friend's grandma move to FV from that place and she's alone on SSI. Try this list, there are a few places in Cary. HTH!

I know of four places in downtown Raleigh that are senior housing...about half of them are low-income.
Glenwood Towers
Murphey School Bldg
Sir Walter Apartments
Parkview Manor

I second Raleigh Rob on Parkview Manor in Capitol Park. Lots of amenities and it's a gorgeous area now and a lot of new housing around it. You can find info (and pics) on it at Raleigh Housing Authority's website.

There are a few that have an income cap but no income based rent. Rent is fixed but will rarely rise because of tax abartements.
