anyone know of any Pantene Beautiful Lengths events coming up in the Raleigh area?
My husband loves my hair short - and I like to cut it when I've got enought to donate. Locks of love needs 12" which I don't think he will wait for - he really, really likes my hair short and bouncy . Anyway - I would love to know of any salons that participate in the Pantene beautiful lengths program or any upcoming events. If any of you know of any, I'd be most appreciative.
fyi - the Pantene program donates hair prothetics to women who are being treated primarily for breast cancer, whereas Locks of Love is for kids, so they can have hairpieces made from natural hair at no cost when undergoing chemo and radiation therapy. I've donated twice to them! So, my hair is pretty much always really long or really short!

I donated 9inches to Pantene a couple of years ago. I just mailed it in to them. You might want to google it. I found how to do it on their website. What a great thing you are doing.

I'm pretty sure that most salons do both. With Pantene you go home with your hair and mail it yourself and with Locks of Love, the salon will mail it. I have donated to both programs. I just did Locks of Love in Oct. I havent had short hair in many, many years and I have to say I LOVE IT! No more ponytails for me for a while! LOL
Best Wishes!
(Mitchells does Pantene and I was at Salon Kroma when I donated for Locks of Love)

Excellent, I will call. I just love giving something back that can make a difference - I just think of some little boy or girl, with a natural wig instead of bald - particularly in wintertime. Or a woman, who is dealing with cancer - losing her hair, probably dealing with menopause, and maybe losing her parents at the same time. And wigs are so terribly expensive. To add the cost on top of everything else must be too much to bear.
Anyway - THANK YOU! I hadn't called Mitchells to see if they participated!

The program is about donating hair for cancer patients and other women who have lost their hair because of chemotherapy / radiation. But hey, I bet your short hair is smooth and sexy nonetheless!

It is a really nice conditioner, yeah. I thought maybe it'd have rBGH in it or something, but no luck.

Salon Moxie (and maybe Samuel Cole) also do Locks of Love. I got a free haircut in April with my Locks of Love donation. They handled the paperwork & mailing and I got a cute new 'do. I didn't think I had 12 inches, but I did! I had planned to do Pantene's and send it in myself if I had shorter hair.
