This company is absolutely wonderful to work for and they are looking for a software developer.
Their craigslist posting is here: Software Developer

I'm happy to provide more info on the company privately to those that are interested in applying.

We're looking to relocate to Raleigh...hubby needs job first:

Currently, we live in the east bay of San Francisco...he has been employed by the largest Medical Malpractice Insurance company for the past 15 years. He spent 14 years in Claims, 9+ years in Management. The past six months, he has been a Manager in the Risk Management dept. He has many years experience managing from 6-12 people, as well as the entire process of Claims/ Litigation management and most recently risk management. He is a terrific leader with an excellent strategic planning background. He has been recognized by the CEO with special awards many times over his tenure.

He currently makes $135,000...we'd be crazy to expect anything near that outside the bay area. He's willing to take a step backwards in the insurance industry, or start over in a pharm/ medical equip. company, or other healthcare company. Clearly, his management skills are transferable.

Anyone who can help out with suggestions/ headhunter referrals/ whatever! we'd gladly appreciate it!!!!

And good luck to all seeking jobs!!!

He's currently working quality control at a pharm company, but he wants to get back into research. Also, back into a job that comes with health insurance.

Even with his MS, his last job wanted to start him out at 35K a year and only paid him 40k due to a paperwork snafu. He took the job he's at now to gain some difference experience and some new lab techniques. It's great for experience and will look better on his resume, but yes, he should be making more. I think most of the websites say something like starting pay for a MS in molecular bio should be around 48k. We've never made anything near that, but one can hope.

I'm in a PhD program and I would suggest he apply to the academic setting. I think he might get $40k but not much more. Although it's not a lot, he'd be happier. Before I started grad school, I was making a little under $40k/yr and was one of the higher paid people in the department without a PhD FYI.

I am a medical lab tech with 8 years experience and 3 of those years with experience in research. I have an AS in clinical laboratory technology and will have my BS in Health Science; healthcare management in June of this year. I am searching for a job in the medical research field, maybe pharma, maybe at research at a university, hospital lab....ya know right now i'll take what I can get....even a a medical sales job if they are willing to train someone familiar with the medical field. Can't be picky right now....just need to get my foot in the door somewhere and provide for myself. So anyone with some leads or info on jobs in any of these areas?? thanks

Default Looking for a part-time administrative position (Apex area)

I have over 20 years experience, ranging from receptionist to executive administrative positions, in sales, marketing and management departments. I am comfortable with MS applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) and certainly willing to learn new programs! I'm hoping to find morning hours (8 or 9 AM to Noon or 1 PM) in the Apex area. $10-$12/hr range.

Are the big companies, i.e. Cisco, hiring? Or are they under a hiring freeze?
