I see that gasoline is now selling for $1.32 in Zebulon. I have being seeing in the news that it may go under $1.00 a gallon. The Triangle is always a little higher than the surrounding towns. I wonder if we will see it 90 something cents here. It would seem like a flashback in time.
I remember it falling under a $1 for a short while. I want to say maybe the second year Bush was in office? Otherwise, it was pretty much when I started driving!

I remember paying $0.99 in Mission Viejo, CA (southern Cal.) during the Christmas break in 2001.
I remember everything about that glorious day - the dark overcast sky, the slight smell of gasoline, the bright red shirt worn by the person in front of me (he had a taillight out, but I didn't tell him - I still feel guilty about that), the person exiting the station with a gallon of diet coke and a box of Krispy Kremes. Indeed, a glorious day.
If gas goes back to $0.99 or less, I won't be able to tell that story to my grand kids. Here's to gas holding at $1.01.
Look for gas prices to bounce right after Christmas. HO HO Higher! These low gas prices are the quasi stimulus package to get shoppers to shop during the Holiday season. But for now its good, its all good!
I remember seeing it for $.69 a gallon exactly 10 years ago (December 1998) off of I-95 in GA. We needed gas and we figured we'd just wait until we cross the state line into FLA. Bad idea!! We stopped once in FLA and you could just imagine the horror on our faces when reg. unleaded was going for $1.25
