These two are the best in Raleigh.

There is a little place called Fratello's in Brier Creek plaza (near Brixx Pizza) that my wife and I went to and thought it was great Italian food. I think the owner is from Italy.

I think so. The food is not too different, lots of it. Casa Carbone doesn't have a wall of autographs on the inside like Casalinga does. CC is now having wine deals with meals, when I was there last time it was noted on the specials board. I would have done that but I placed an order to go.

I'm with her on the comfort food, too. Something about a big hearty meal that just makes everything ok. Time to dig through the crockpot recipes again.

Just went to Brio at Crabtree and it was awesome. A bit pricey though. I also love Nina's off Strickland Rd near Six Forks and Baileywick.

I am in agreement (the poster said Casalinga and Casa Carbone). Very authentic Italian at both locations.
