Default Official Triangle U-Verse availability thread

According to the local rag, AT&T is launching its U-Verse TV & Internet service in the Triangle today (12/15/08). However, they are keeping availability a secret; per the N&O, "AT&T won't name the Triangle subdivisions where U-verse is available, so as to thwart its cable rival from luring customers with bargains. Instead, households that can get U-verse will receive notices in the mail."

So let's try to figure this out on our own. If you get a flyer in the mail, or if you have first-hand knowledge of someone who got a flyer in the mail, please let us know and identify the town and subdivision or neighborhood in which the flyer arrived. Maybe I can try to find out (or someone who already knows) how to put together a Google Maps mashup of this info.

Thanks all!

My guess is that sprawl areas and those with newer lines will get it first, Cary, Holly Springs, Apex, North Raleigh type areas.

I hope to get something in the mail - AT&T vans have been all over for the past two months up in N Raleigh and the infra is in place - I can't wait for AT&T if for no other reason than its competition for TWC.

Ok, so apparently it is available at my address. I live in a new neighborhood of townhomes off of Glenwood, closer to 540. Seeing as how I absolutely despise TWC (that new DVR software is horrendous), this looks like a good option. Does anyone have any impressions about it that they would like to share?

I'm in a brand new subdivision where they are still building homes in Knightdale and it is not available here. RATS! I'd switch in a heartbeat....

It says that I can get it. I am in 27513. I just did a quick quote and it looks like u-verse is going to be more expensive than TWC for me since I am on a TWC promotion. I pay $96 a including taxes a month for cable and internet and the same package with a slower speed (6MBPS vs 8MBPS) for ATT would be 117 plus taxes
