This is another misconception. NC Population has over taken NJ ,moved into 10th place in the country. NJ is the density winner for the country. Fun Fact NJ is approx 8729 sq miles length 70 width 150,,,,,NC is 53865 Width 150 length 560.. thats alittle over 6 times the size of Jersey. To imply that every one here is a transplant is ignorant. Understand that almost all the transplants move into central North Carolina that would be the Triangle, Peidmont and Charlotte areas. Because of this allot of out of state people are in the same area. If you venture into rural areas you will struggle to find a Jersey or Ny accent, and that is the majority of the state geography. By the stats True NC residents thats are born here, out number non residents 7 to 1. If you go on the net you will find this info. Also be ready for your children to say Ya all and have a southern draw within a couple years. Heck I hear Yankees faking it all the time tying to fit in. Growth is good but remember be who you are, if you dont want your kids to be southern stay up North. But please dont come here and pose. NC is a great state and is a mix of alot of people but it is and always will be NC...Peace
