Default Police cars in cary 12/21

So, last night as we were out looking at Christmas lights, we saw 8 cop cars tearing thru Cary. Never saw any mention of it on TV. Hubby and I were sure something horrible had happened. Did anyone hear anything? They were headed down Maynard towards West Chatham.

I could have been any number of the usual police events in Cary:

1) They discovered a non-conforming sign at a chain restaurant.

2) Someone was speeding 7 miles over the limit.

3) They were testing their sirens to make sure they still work.

4) A strange looking man in a red suit with long white hair and a beard was spotted leaving the mall in an unregistered sleigh.

5) They had to justify the fact that 16 of them were on the clock and had not had a single call in the last 7 hours, so they created the appearance of a major event which was "nipped in the bud" just like old Barney used to do.

Edited to add: I just found out what it was on the police blotter. Someone painted their fence the wrong color in lochmere and when the police arrived, they also discovered a suspected yorkshire terrier fighting ring. Upon further investigation, the police determined the dogs were just playing.

This kind of stuff happens based on what call they might get and maybe information they recieved. A lot of times things like this turn out to be nothing, I wouldn't worry about it. Even if it was something, it could have turned out to be nothing. Again, just because there is more than 1 or two cars, does not mean someone was shot or someone was being robbed at gunpoint, etc.

Cary still has crime you know. Making a big deal about seeing multiple police cars is alarmist at it's finest. Take a chill pill.

I heard that a whole fleet of out-of-towners got lost at Crossroads Plaza and threatened to riot...

perhaps they were going to patrol an annexed portion of Cary that they had forgotten (Park at West Lake).

might also be the monthly hair product run for the boys in the cruisers...

i kid....

Really? If you saw 8 cars speed past you you wouldn't wonder at all? Lived here 10 years and NEVER have I seen that many at one time. 2 or even 3 but 8? Geez, I wasn't saying Cary has no crime, I was just curious. Nevermind.
