We are relative new-comers--in search of homemade, coconut cream pie, banana cream pie (with baked meringue on top). Does anyone know a local bakery or pie shop in Cary? In Raleigh? Thanks much, Logman

Not to hijack your thread, but can we add really good, fresh pecan pie to the list? I've been searching all over for that!

Cracker Barrel has a pretty tasty pecan pie. For the cream pies, ya might try a Perkins restaurant (if ya can find one)!

You could always go to Phoebe Lawless at Scratch. I can attest to the wonder of her pies.

Perkins is on Hwy. 64 I believe for the cream pies. Also Whole Foods for pecan pies.

Try the K & W Cafeteria at Cameron Village. All their pies are home made and to die for!

Also, the restaurant at Meadows makes their own desserts. Hubby brought home a coconut cake that was almost as good as his mom used to make! He paid $8!

Make them yourself. Just not that hard, especially the pecan pie, which I consume in bulk quantities after making from scratch.
