I took clients out to Austin Creek this afternoon.

One of the houses we looked at had alot of square foot for the money; however, we wondered about the "woods" behind the house. When we walked outside, there was a neighbor studying his yard so I asked him about the woods and this is what he told us:

Austin Creek is a neighborhood built by Beazer; however, Beazer is having financial trouble and have stopped building spec homes. Beazer is selling off some (or all) of the available lots. The homeowners do not know what builder will be finishing the neighborhood. The homeowners do not know what will happen to the "woods" behind their houses. The homeowners do not know if the pool/clubhouse will ever be started.

I feel terrible for them; however, until the situation is clarified a bit, it seems like a big risk to buy in that neighborhood. Again, this is something the neighbor told me and I have not yet checked this out. The neighbor also mentioned there would be a meeting in October to fill in the homeowners on what is going to happen to the neighborhood. Scary situation for them.

Vicki, a few months back Beazer held an auction for the furnishings for all 3 model homes. Many of my neighbors and I got great deals on things. The model homes are empty, and I know of at least one of them that sold. That makes it pretty clear to me that Beazer is not planning on selling houses there.
