I'm going to be new to the Raleigh/Durham area and will be here for a week to check things out...anybody suggest some nice safe places to hang out during the evenings to have dinner or enjoy the nightlife?

Glenwood Ave. Bogarts, Sullivans,a really nice newer Mexican restaurant on Sixforks Rd.called Jabarra.(voted a while back, best place to bring a date) really pretty in there. So many to list that are nice safe places to hang out at night. Is this for getting something to eat or just for a few drinks, or both?

Check out downtownraleigh.org & downtownraleigh.com to see some pretty good listings of the city nightlife in Raleigh. And downtowndurham.com for some in Durham. I think they'll give you a good idea of what's available to enjoy.
