Hi-
Can anyone recommend a camera repair person in Raleigh (N. Raleigh / Wake Forest preferably)? I have a Nikon D40X.

Send it to Nikon. Any reputable camera shop should tell you the same thing. Depending on the problem, it will be cheaper, too.

Peace Camera is not a Nikon Authorized Repair Station, but that's not to say they can't fix your problem.

And depending on the severity of the problem (Nikon will give you a quote), it may be cheaper to buy a used one. You can pick up a used D40x from KEH for $300, or a D50 for $235 (D50 is a much better camera by the way, in my unsolicited opinion).
