Default Moving to Raleigh from Puerto Rico

Hi all.

I'm new to this board. I'm Karen and I currently live in Puerto Rico. I've been planning to move to Raleigh, NC for quite some time now but all my efforts in finding a job have had no results. I have a Bachelor's in Information Systems but absolutely no experience in the field, no certifications, wich makes it rather difficult to land my dream job in IT. All my experience is in sales and customer service. I see that Raleigh has a lot of openings for CS and Sales but the pay is low. Wich can be somewhat expected. I'm moving in with a friend, that'll help as I don't have to pay rent for a while. But I do have two children, a girl who's seven and a 2 yr old boy. Are jobs really hard to find in Raleigh? I'll be moving to North Raleigh.

Any tips? Websites I should visit? I don't know where else to look!

Thanks!

Given your Degree, you might be able to try looking at some of the many universities in the area for an entry-level IT job (if you enjoy this type of work). Check out Universities and Colleges in North Carolina

Being from P.R. are you bi-lingual? That can give you an edge over some other candidates....and also open up other job opportunities you might be interested in.

Good luck, and I wish you success in NC.

hey...

I'm a german paralegal looking for a job in Winston-Salem, Charlotte or Raleigh...
I read that there are alot of germans in NC,but i can't find any German lawyer or company in the internet.
I really don't know what to do,I'm looking for almost 3 yrs now and nothing happend ;(
Anybody who can help me on that? It don't HAVE to be a German employer,I just thought that would be the easier way. Every advice would help...

Please contact me on sara_awed@yahoo.com, because I'm not much on here.
