Medicaid is about all that compares but the NC limits restrict it to those in abject poverty.

New program for high risk just started in NC.

PA has a much better plan.

What's the new program for high risk about? Medicaid is out. You can't make anything to get that, literally. Do they have share of cost?

Won't be cheap though. It's for people with pre-existing problems that price them out of normal plans. NC Dept of Insurance should have the details.

NC has a high-risk health insurance pool! « writemyline

Thanks, I know about that, but what about for adults? Do most employers offer affordable health insurance for employees and their spouse?

Employer provided insurance is the norm outside of the low level service industries (Wal-Mart, fast food ect.) How affordable and good the insurance is depends on the employer.

They do have the medically needy program (Share of cost) I found out. You're not elegible for medicaid, but if you meet the deductible, you can recieve health coverage. North Carolina Eligibility (http://www.hrsa.gov/reimbursement/states/North-Carolina-Eligibility.htm - broken link)
