What to do for American history buff?

My husband is a huge history buff and we both enjoyed Bennett Place so much that we started volunteering out there. Check out Duke Homestead, as well, since they are so close to each other. Both are free and well worth the trip. Touring the State Capitol is a lot of fun, as well. We haven't been to Stagville, yet, but it is supposed to be good, too.
