I am looking for someone to take care of our 2 female guinea pigs over Thanksgiving (wed to Mon). Does anyone know of a place where we can drop them off? Most boarding sites I've found are for dogs/cats.

let me know if you find someone this will be necessary over the christmas break for me probably. Have you tried the Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital off highway 70? They do have overnight care so they may be able to board?

Do you prefer to board them? If not, I'd try to see if there's a local tween/teen in your neighborhood who would like to earn a little extra money. I did that with my cat the last time I went out of town, and it worked out great for everyone.

Maybe try a vet. I wish my dog were more small critter friendly or i'd offer (though you don't know me at all, ha).

I used to have this problem with lizards and would board at the vet; once a pet store watched them for me.

The Vet Techs at my vet's office will come to your house to pet sit. Maybe your vet has someone, as well.

I'd recommend calling your local vet to see if they might have someone who could take them in or could swing by your house. Do you have 10-14 year olds in your neighborhood? Perfect age for something like that...

I found a pet sitter in my community on the Next Door website. I have found it to be a very handy website.

We took ours to my daughter's friends with food and instructions. gave her 20.00 in a card when we picked them up.

My daughter would pet sit, but we're way out in Clayton. feel free to drop them off if you cant find anything.

Let me know if you still need a sitter, we've had a number of guinea pigs for years and are very experienced with them! We don't have any pets of our own now, and will be home during Thanksgiving and Christmas break!
Email me if you're interested: (edenofgarden AT gmail.com)

We live in north Raleigh/Wakefield area.
