Can you tell me the name of the Neighborhood in Cary I drove through today? (Map)
I was in Cary tonight driving along E Cornwall Road. I really liked the look of the neighborhood I was driving through. The homes were older, looked like may 1960's & 1970's in style with mature landscaping and huge trees. Anybody know the name of this neighborhood or neighborhoods along this street?
Thanks!

I think it's Tanglewood or Greenwood Forest.
It comes out to Tanglewood near my daughter's preschool and the Cary Swim Club.

NRG,
Big Trees and large lots makes that area absolutely gorgeous.
As you drive along E Cornwall Rd in that area, there is no regularly used subdivision name. It is just known as Ashworth properties in the legal descriptions.
When you pass Washington Street, and further east on Cornwall you are in Greenwood Forest. Greenwood Forest is a fairly large neighborhood built in several phases starting in the 1960's.
The little cul-de-sac neighborhood of contemporary homes off Cornwall is Kurtsbrook.
I love the Greenwood Forest area.
It is a fantastic location in Cary with lots that exceed anything available in new construction under $700,000.
Photos?
Sure!
This one is on E Cornwall:
Greenwood Forest:
Oh, yeah.... You just KNEW there would be photos...

Mike - you are awesome! You had all that info and pictures up before I'd had time to look at the post and scratch my head!

I love Greenwood Forest! I've seen a couple houses there that I'd love to own - the trees are just incredible. In the end I went for Oxxford Hunt and proximity to Bond Park, but that neighborhood is definitely a very close second!

How about that. Cary IS beautiful. Who would have thought that there are mature trees, older homes and big lots. I heard it was all cookie cutter, new, beige and all the trees were cut down. Did I hear wrong?

I love that area. I live very close to there and always have my eye on properties in that part of Cary!
But *gasp* they do to that awful Cary High school that everyone so desperately wants to keep their kids out of! The horror!

Thanks Mike!
It was driving me crazy not knowing the name of the area. That is a great area. I need to get back there and do some exploring. Excellent neighborhood.
What kind of price range category does that general area fall into?
Thanks again!

I've seen homes in the low $200K's in Greenwood Forest. I fell in absolute love with one around $220K that had a 3/4 acre lot. It was even fairly updated! Unfortunately it wasn't the right time for me to buy a new house, so someone else got it. My dogs would have loved all that land though!
