Check out the southern portion of Franklin County (Youngsville area). Still a small town with a rural feel and has some nice housing being built.

I would agree with youngsville, rolesville, wake forest. I wonder where you are commuting to in raleigh, it is quite a big place, and the towns listed are in the northern part of the county................but you could be working in the southern part.

A little more information may get you some more specific responses!

Leigh

Alot of Johnston County is still country and not too far from the east side of Raleigh.
The area between Apex and Sanford (the Deep River area) is another nice place with a short trip up U.S. 1 to Cary.

Default Angier

The Angier, Willow Spring, and Fuquay Varina are nice towns outside of Raleigh, though Angier and Willow Spring are more "country" compared to FV. Angier and Willow Spring are close enough to FV so you can travel easily there to do your shopping if you don't want to go to Clayton, Garner, Smithfield, or Raleigh! Good luck!
