I doubt that any reputable company would have a Yahoo e-mail account, especially if they have their own website (which typically include dedicated e-mail accounts).

I don't think you can tell if a company is "legit" just by their website. Anyone can have a pretty website these days!
From their "About Us" section:

We target the consumer using a unique, professional one on one presentation in order to maximize the amount of business we generate for our clients.

In other words, they send you door-to-door to sell stuff.

I'll be the first to admit not every job is for everyone, but I definately don't bash other professions if I wind up not working with a company. I answered an ad for JW Marketing and since that day in early February I have loved EVERY minute of it. I've got the degrees in communications, minors in pr/marketing. I definately couldn't of worked in a cubicle(not saying anythings wrong with that), just that I love being able to interact and meet new people. I've gotten a chance to promote for The Carolina Hurricanes, The Atlanta Braves, The Carolina Mudcats...I even got a chance to travel and promote for The St. Louis Cardinals. Of course that's not all we promote and sell tickets for; I've worked with spas, and local golf courses even little fun centers. I have gotten the chance to travel though, and I've never been "kidnapped" or held against my will. If I ever wanted to leave, I could...but I'm definately not going to bash other people who chose to make their living marketing and representing these brands...that is THEIR choice. Who am I to belittle or bash them for that?? My real question is this though, if what JW Marketing was doing was soo bad and such a scam, how would we be able to work with a portfolio like we do?? Everyone of our clients has a research and development team...their only purpose being to research whomever that particular client attaches their name with...Could the HURRICANES REALLY risk attaching their name with a SCAM?? Would they really risk a MULTI-MILLION dollar sports team on that?? Since opening, JW Marketing has opened up multiple offices in just the last year alone...we continue to grow because we do provide a service...we do keep businesses in business. We do help out the small restaurant owners, and the local golf courses. It's definately not for everybody....but really...what job is???

People overuse the word "scam"
I don't know anything about JW marketing, but people call all sorts of things that just aren't ideal "Scams"
I am sure it's a legit business, but the work is not for everyone...same goes for Vector Marketing...selling Cutco knives is not exactly what most people envision for themselves with a college education, but hey, people make money doing it and the knives are pretty darn good!

Any prospective employer who won't tell you something as simple as what they actually "do" in advance of an interview, and then not until you first agree to sit through their entire marketing speil is not terrifically legit.
That being said, if you love to sell and are good at doing it, then more power to you!

Again, "legit" is being interestingly defined here.
To me legit means - is it a real job they offer, do they pay you, and will they be in business in 3 months.
Now, that's not to say that calling in to a company like this and not having a good feeling that this will be a good fit for you leads you to ignore them is a bad course of action to take - I probably would not recommend anyone I know interview with a company like this, but they can at least count on the fact that if they can handle the work, they'll get paid.

Anyone notice that the poster saying JW is legit and a great job only has one post? Hmmm....
