I know teachers who have taught in year round schools and have had a problem with supplementing their income. Most teachers have to work and its hard to wrok in camps and programs during employment in year round schools.
Love to hear some other views.

Well, my daughter is in the after school program sponsored by the YMCA at her school in Wake County. They have before-school, too, and it is actually at the school, so no bussing or driving to different locations. She also attends the YMCA track out camp at the "real Y" as she calls it, since she's on year round. The Johnston County YMCA offers after school care as well, I believe:

Clayton to Raleigh depends a lot on where in Raleigh. I have a friend who lives in Riverwood in Clayton who commutes to Wakefield, and it takes her about 45 minutes. I have another friend who lives on the far west side of Clayton, and she commutes in to North Raleigh, and it also takes her about 40 minutes. If you're teaching at one of the schools in east Wake, you can probably do it in 30 minutes.

Check out a map to gauge the distances I just described, and keep in mind that I-540 is now open to the 64 bypass, some maps still show it as a future road.

I hadn't heard that concern before for teachers, only for bus drivers and support staff. I would imagine that the year-round teachers could supplement teach at track out camps instead of summer camps. Personally, I did private tutoring (still do, actually) for middle school math, and I tutored a couple year round students while teaching at a traditional school.

I think you could make it work.
