Can anyone please recommend a good, reputable tile installer? We would like to have a subway tile backsplash installed in our small kitchen. Thanks!

Unfortunately, the only person locally that has laid tile for me sucks royally and I wouldn't recommend them. In fact, I'll send you their name so that you know NOT to choose them.

David Thaxton, Thaxton Builders, LLC (Durham) did great subway backsplash tiling for us. he's not just a 'handyman' per se (he's a licensed contractor) but did an awesome job on our (small, also) kitchen remodel in general, and the tilework is great specifically, also. I think he travels anywhere around the Triangle. He worked with the kitchen/bath store we picked our tile from and cut on-site. He might charge more than a handiman, but we appreciate his work every time we're in our kitchen.

Default Good tiler

Hi,
I have a recommendation of a really good tile guy. He works out of Goldsboro but he travels anywhere. He's amazing, I've seen his work. Company name is Home Doctor Remodeling and his number is 919-920-4512.

DanielleNC,
I just saw your query from a couple months ago!!!- we purchased the tile through Kitchen and Bath Galleries on W. Hwy. 54 in S. Durham, just north of Southpoint. They had a huge selection of tiles. They also have a huge selection on granite and Corian as well. They deal higher end appliances also, although we went with Sears (GE midrange appliances), because comparably our home is not high end. Sub Zero's would have been out of character for our humble neighborhood.
Best, G.
