Ha! I beat you to this one NRG!

Looks like we will be getting some more local brew here in the Triangle.

The Aviator Brewery has opened in Fuquay Varina. Their "taphouse" is open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 4-8 PM.

Below is a picture from their website. Not as pretty as Lonerider, but the important thing is that they make good beer. It is located near the "Triple W" airpark off of highway 401. Looking forward to checking this place out on Thursday.

My husband and his friends went there on Saturday and had a great time! Aviator is supposed to have its beers at a restaurant (don't know which) soon as a debut.

I'll find out which one and post it. I talked to the brewer/owner yesterday and I'm going over to check the place out this week sometime.

This may be obvious, but the 'taphouse' is essentially a brew tour correct? I've been to the one in Holly Springs (Carolina Brewing--i think), which is a great time and way to sample.

Haven't been yet so I can't tell you for sure. I plan to go sometime this week.

Hubs says he met the brew master, toured the facility, had a tasting of one of Aviator's beers and another guest beer. They had some snacks, music, other folks there. Paid $8 to fill up the growler that he brought along from home.

I think the restaurant where they're debuting is in Fuquay-Varina.

I had one of Aviator's beers, the Big Bolt Pale, at Tir Na Nog on Saturday.

It was okay....hubby liked it a bit more then I did. I've certainly had worse, but I hope their other offerings show their strong points better. This was just average.
