Rumbling in Holly Springs? (live, military, airplane)

Been hearing rumbling since 6PM tonight. Curious if anyone else is picking it up or if its me. Sounds like distant thunder but don't believe there are storms in the area. Artillery from Bragg?

I live a skip hop & a jump from H.S. Like 5 mins from H.T.

I am hearing it right now at 11:03. Seems to be fading out.

I think it's an airplane. I've been hearing more and more airplane noise here.

I have heard the rumbling since yesterday. It was going on last night. I fell asleep and woke up very early this morning to hear it again. It is pretty consistent coming and going. I thought I was losing my mind so glad to hear I'm not the only one hearing it. Anyone else heard anything about it?

We heard it last night too in the middle of the night! It was a loud rumbling noise. I figured it was a helicopter or something. You guys are not going crazy! I wonder what it was....

I tend to think my hearing is good, but my wife was really giving me a hard time about it. Whatever it was, not hearing it tonight. Thanks for the confirmation and support. Have to figure out what that was...

After reading some of the experiences at the World Super Buffet in Holly Springs, I think I can tell you the answer.

In the summertime we often hear bombing from Ft. Bragg all the way up here in Fuquay.....sounds like distant thunder...and all sorts of low flying military craft fly over our house.....seems like just above the trees sometimes.

When the wind is right I'm betting what you're hearing is just jets taking off from RDU airport.
