Question Cary Craft Stores

I'm looking for a craft store but want to avoid Crossroads (I think there is a Michael's over there, but PLEASE don't make me go there!). Most convenient for me would be around the Galaxy theater area or somewhere in a 5-10 mile radius around Cary Pkwy/Harrison Ave area.

Ohhhh..... can't say for sure just yet - LOL! I'm getting the crafty urge is all. I do have two little projects in mind, for which I'll need some fabric paint or markers and some tiny little scissors and maybe some origami paper. Nothing terribly unusual!

hmmm....I'm thinking Crossroads is going to be your best bet for that kind of stuff. Sorry!

Sadly they are all at Crossroads. I prefer A C Moore or Joann's to Michael's, but they are all there. One positive is that on weekdays the craft stores open early compared to most things in Crossroads, so if you go there between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. then it is pretty easy to get around.

There used to be a Hancock Fabrics near Galaxy Theater, but it is no more.

How far are you willing to drive? There is both a Michael's and AC Moore on Capital but at Crossroads, there is also a huge Joann's fabric that may also have some of the stuff you want in addition to Michael's and AC Moore. There is always the internet.

I'll just add that if you really really don't want to go to Crossroads, there is a Michael's at Brier Creek, though these days I'm not sure Brier Creek is a whole lot easier. From the Harrison Ave/Cary Pkwy area we always go down Evans to Aviation Parkway, take Aviation Pkwy until it ends, turn right and Brier Creek is just a bit down on the right, so it's an easy drive.
