We're all different and that's what makes the world go 'round. That being said, the above traits you listed do not necessarily apply to most in Cary. DH and I are definitely not country folk, love Indy films and most definitely are not conservatives. We do, however indulge in being carnivores. I also love Five Points! Reminds me of Providence near Brown University.

Chick lit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It tends to be very predictable, formula writing, and they always end the same.
And BTW, Chicken Little was a book before it was a movie. But neither have anything to do w/ Chick Lit.

Damn.....you're calling me a chick.
BTW - I always wait for the movie, rather than read the book. Saves me time and effort.

The "chick lit" or more common "chick flick" comment they made was NOT calling you a "chick". It was saying that like many movies and books that appeal to and are made for women ("chicks"), which often have predictable endings ( she divorces the bad husband and ends up with the one who REALLY loves her, the old lady dies and the younger ones have fond memories of her, etc./whatever else) the "ending" of your "brave venture to the city" was predictable in essentially you came to the conclusion that "while some people may like this, that, and the other thing about living in the city; I much prefer this that and the other thing about living in Cary aka the greatest place on Earth"

LOL, No, I'm not calling you a chick... but you already knew that.
BTW, Chicken Little the book can be read in 5 mins... the Disney movie version is 90 mins.

Umm... I am from Iowa, like monster trucks shows and motorcross, I am a libertarian (was republican before they decided to bail out banks and turn to socialism) and I eat meat daily. I have also been hunting, fishing, camping, have been known to refer to woman as broads and chicks and I like jack and coke. I also went to see Brokeback Mountain at the Rialto with a bottle of red wine and a friend. I also admit to cringing at certain scenes, the first time I saw it, the second time I was more comfortable. I think it is nice that someone made an assumption about you having an open mind.

Those weren't McMansions. Those were old stately homes.
McMansions are homes that are mass produced and sacrifice quality for quantity and front facade appeal.

Well, as a late 20 something liberal male, I guess I would make you uneasy huh Charlton Dude? Don't think I would feel too comfortable living around you either I suppose, but to each their own.
