Does anyone know where to find "salt beef" in the Triangle? This is a something that I would usually have access to at the Korean stores while in New York but can not seem to find it here, not even at Compare Foods.

Have you tried the Asian markets on 15-501? Well actually one is really on that service road behind Mayflower.

You have to turn where the McDonald's and car lot are and drive down past the Precision Tune. It's in the back of the parking lot on the right hand side.

Don't know if they carry what you want, but there is a new Korean grocery called S Mart in Cary at the corner of Walnut and Cary Towne Center (in the strip mall with TJ Maxx). It is towards the back where Hancock Fabrics used to be. It's very nice and they have a pretty large selection, so it would be worth trying.

Try Leones International foods on fayetteville st about 1 mile up from NCCU. I'm not sure if they sell salted beef but I know he carries salted pork parts.
