My understanding is all buffalo lanes are smoke free and no alcohol.

I have seen alleys try non smoking leagues before with little success, but that was about 10 years ago. One of the last bastions of the NC state vegtable

When we want to bowl with the kids, we go to Western too. The kids have birthday parties there, etc. If your group is a bunch of SERIOUS bowlers, then they may not like it cause it is not fancy and the lanes are rather old. But it is rarely crowded, and as others say, just how you remember the bowling alley from your youth. They do allow smoking, but I have never been there when it i has been crowded enough that anyone was smoking near me.

Do know that it has recently changed hands (although they kept all the old staff from what I can tell...which is good) and they are redoing the snack bar, so the choices were limited a couple weeks ago when we were there. Don't know if they are done yet, but my husband's and sons Y guides troop will be there this weekend, so they will report back!

I too will miss the counter with the worn "slide" spot where the snack bar lady slid the beer to you..."I you miss it, you can't have it!".

I have always used Pleasant Valley, but mainly due to proximity. They have some sort of deal where you can bowl as many games from 10 to midnight on Saturdays. But i cant remember if it is the Xtreme bowling (neon lights, etc)
