Local hardware store with a good selection of tube fittings
There was a good hardware store in Dallas called Elliots and I would go there to buy brass fittings. Also, I've ordered stainless and brass fittings from Swage-Lok and McMaster-Carr, respectively. I was wondering if there is a local hardware store here in Raleigh with a good selection. Home Depot and Lowes may carry some fittings for specific home plumbing applications, but not extensive enough. For example, I'm looking for 3/8" and 1/2" - - MPT, FPT, barbed, and compression - - - stainless and brass.

Yeah. I went to Fergusons the other day based on that exact thread, and all I could find was larger diameter stuff. Lots of larger diameter steel, copper, and PVC pipe and associated fittings. I went to the one in Apex, so maybe that wasn't a good one to go to?

I thought they dealt mostly in larger tools, but maybe the Northern Tool in South Hills would be worth trying? |

Grainger is good, but can you just walk in off the street and browse/buy? I thought they were the type of place that you told a guy behind the counter what you wanted and he went to the back of the store to get it. Maybe they only did company accounts? |

I think so too. I've been in Northern Tool stores and they didn't seem to have this type of stuff. |

Has anyone been to Burke Brothers hardware on Hillsboro St by the fairgrounds? I've driven by a few times and they seem to be an old-fashioned hardware store that might sell this type of item.

I have no idea if Burke Brothers sells what you are specifically looking for, but my dad has been shopping there since I was a little kid. He LOVES that place. I'd give them a call and if they don't sell it, I'll bet they'll know who does.

I would also try Raleigh's oldest Hardware store- Briggs. Burke Brothers is great as well.
