Default Found Dog (Dixie Tr. & Wade Ave area)

On my way into work this morning, I found a small little white dog (maltese?) wandering around the Dixie Trail and Wade Ave area. It is female and is wearing a pink collar with no tag(s). Additionally, she has a tiny brown spot of hair on her back. I'm going to post signs around the area during lunch.

I know it's a long shot, but if anyone knows of someone who lost a small white dog in the area, please contact me. TIA

Also if you can make a report to the local shelter in case her owners are looking there. And if you could, you can swing by any veterinarian and they will scan her to see if she has a microchip.

Thanks for stopping to get her, I hope you are able to find her owners!

and I"m guessing with it being in that area...she probably goes to Oberlin Animal. Might also pop in there to see if any of the employees recognize her and they can also scan for the microchip.
Good luck!

Also call the non-emergency number for the Raleigh PD and ask them to post in their dispatch area. Every dog that I've found (and the one I lost) has been recovered in that way.

I would also recommend posting it on Petfinders.com. They have a free lost and found section. You can click on the state and look to see if the owner posted anything. If not, you can post a found ad. I once found my lost cat this way.

Thank you for all of the suggestions.. I've basically completed everyone (going to petsmart tomorrow to see if she has a chip).. guess now it's just a waiting game--pending the results of the chip scan.

Are you planning on keeping her if the owner is not found? If not, please dm me...we're currently looking into adopting a small dog from a rescue. We already have a little Shih-Tzu and would love to get her a companion.

You're such a good person for doing this. I hope the little doggie finds her owner soon.

Default Good News!

Found the owner, but it's a little deflating though... because the dog is awesome and the owner didn't seem to give much of an effort in looking for her (she knew exactly where she was lost and I posted signs all over the area where I found her).. I guess I cherish my dogs more than some people do.. seemed like it was me doing all the work in tracking her down.. eh, don't mind me, that's just my rant for the day.. in any case, it will be a happy ending for the puppy.

Btw, there was no chip.. found her post on craigslist.
