Default Anyone heard about M/I building estate homes near Greystone ( near Weldon Ridge)?

Apparently they will be about 3800 sq ft...no other news available. I am not too crazy about their designs, but they are a very solid builder and our first home is with them - absolutely no issues, if I like the new designs, I would not hesitate on going with them.

Nothing against M/I, but if those homes are North of $500K I would look at a local custom builder in that area.

Their smaller homes run into that price range so i would imagine these will be more in the "estate" section. For that money I would be in Hilliard Forest or Highcroft. Loyd and DJF build great homes.

I thought, from another thread in this forum, that Hilliard Forest might be in some trouble, and are not building as planned. Is that not the case?

I don't know about that neighborhood but I do know that M/I Homes took over Wynbrooke from KB Homes.

I have spoken with the onsite agent and have heard that all houses will have 3 car garages and be in the low $400s.

A buddy of mine works for M/I. When he told me about Wynbrooke I laughed and figured I'd had a close escape from buying a KB plan there when they were soon to be bailing out of the neighborhood. At the time, my floor plan of interest was 480K. I think I had to put down a 40K deposit at time on contract, lot premiums were 25K, no contingencies were accepted and no negotiation on price was given. This was KBs "flagship" neighborhood, I was told. With all the Fidelity relocators coming in town, sales are anticipated to be brisk. Such spin.

Now my floor plan is 340K.

I think the M/I lots have already been cleared and hence are the ones which run parallel with i540. Shouldn't be too long until presales is my guess.

I don't know when they'll post on their website. The M/I sign is already there. If you are interested, I can give you the name of the onsite agent but of course...I must disclose that you shouldn't go without your buyer's agent!

They have a VIP list, so if they have your name, you'll get an email about the grand opening.

Vicki

Actually, we are thinking about buying a new home and are researching the larger builders - Pulte, KB, Lennar, M/I, Centex trying to determine who's who. We get email information from them all. Someone asked about information on Wynbrooke. I had it, thought I was being helpful, as I was under the impression that's what we do here. I don't recall giving an opinion one way or another about them.
