I think Vicky said the leaves are nice on Creedmoor Rd. Once the leaves get color, I'd like to see some pics.

I'm sure the colors are nice North of 540 on Creedmoor b/c its a straight 2 lane rd w/ tons of mature hardwood trees on both sides.

they had some stats on GMA yesterday showing western nc only has 10-25% color change compared to 75+ up north... think we are still a couple of weeks away from the beautiful color. all the trees in our yard are still in summer color, heck our new dynamite crape myrtle is still in full glorious red bloom!

Where are some good spots to see the leaves changing in the Cary/Raleigh area?

These aren't the greatest pics b/c they are from my car, it was raining, and I was using my camera phone. Regardless, I LOVE this area in the fall. I grew up there and my parents still live there. This is St. Mary's Rd. in Hillsborough, Hardscrabble, and my parent’s neighborhood are on the Durham County side. Wish I wasn't in a car and had a real camera on me, b/c the rolling hills with all tree colors are absolutely beautiful. Off of St. Mary's is Pleasant Green Rd. and is also worth checking out. Bahama and Rougemont are gorgeous this time of the year too.
Driving down St. Mary's from Hillsborough to Durham

Hardscrabble to the left and right.

Hardscrabble "lake" side.

Entering my parents neighborhood from Hardscrabble.
