Today I took advantage of this great weather we are having and took a quick stroll through a section of the Historic Five Points Area. I am not well versed on the history of Five Points, but you can read more about it by clicking here. My understanding is that the Five Points Area is a conglomerate of neighborhoods that blend together surrounding the intersection of Glenwood Avenue, Fairview, and Whitaker Mill. My pictures below barely scratch the surface of the many sizes and styles of homes in this area. Most of my pictures are limited to the Hayes Barton Neighborhood of Five Points and the shops along Glenwood Avenue. Follow this link to view a map of the location.

My wife grew up there. On woodland ave. Just up glenwood from 5 points. did ya head up Cowper Dr!?? Now you must take pics of those fantastic homes!

She spent an awful lot of time at that pharmacy at the soda fountain back in the early 60s , movies at the Rialto, still knows people in the neighborhood.

....so as you probably can imagine, when I found this forum...moreso this THREAD, I was THRILLED.

I'm currently in NYC...and I want to move to Raleigh so badly until I submitted a letter to my employer asking if I can "take my job with me". Unfortunately, with my line of work, I would never be able to survive in Raleigh without bringing my salary with me.

I came to the area for a visit about 2 weeks ago - - -and the Parade of Homes just 'HAPPENED' to be happening. I was THRILLED! Unfortunately, I can't remember which homes are located where . . .but I can tell you that ALL OF THESE HOMES are in Raleigh.
