If you have a dog/s it can be fun to head out to one of the many dog parks around the triangle to let your dog run around and socialize. Also volunteering at the SPCA or another local animal rescue or shelter can be a good way to spend some time outside the house, while getting to love on lots of cats or dogs, while also giving back to the community!

Although not free, a visit to the Carnivore Preservation Trust can be a fun way to spend the day. For a 2.5 hour long tour it's $12 for adults, $7 for youths 4-12 and 3 and under get in free. Similar pricing for the Conservators Center in Mebane as well.

Heading out to some of the trails around Jordan Lake can be really nice, I know there are some good trails for Bald Eagle observing too.

My favorite place to hike with my dog is the Eno. I have a couple favorite locations, but really they're all great!
