No, the "end" will remain at the soccer park for some time from the looks of it. The continuation will happen when Horseshoe Park is developed.

The Abbot's Creek trail is a spur off the Upper Neuse Trail on the FoN side of Capital Blvd. that hooks up to the existing trail through Falls River subdivision. When it reaches Durant Rd., you can run on the sidewalk towards FofN until you cross at Cub Trail where you can pick up the Simms Branch trail. That one deadends on Leslieshire Dr. in a neighborhood off of Durant Rd adjacent to the Durant Nature Center. Check out this map for details.

You might be able to add about 8 additional miles by doing an out and back detour from the Upper Neuse Trail.

Here's a video I took showing the end section as you head east toward the soccer park. It's from last night, I did a nice 15.2 mile trip from home. Ignore the noise and heavy breathing, I was pedaling fast.
