Default Middle school options

I am comparing two apartment complexes and would like some feedback on the middle schools that they are assigned to. I am 95% sure I would go with the year-round calendar. Which option would you choose? I've done a little bit of research and it seems like Option 1 would be the best bet, but I'd love to hear from a few people with personal experience. Thanks.

Option 1:
Year-Round = Salem
Traditional = Apex

Option 2:
Year-Round = East Cary
Traditional = West Cary

Our neighborhood is assigned to ECMS so most of the kids in my neighborhood go there. I also have a middle schooler, but she was grandfathered out of ECMS because they opened a year after my DD started. My younger child will be attending there as well.
Anyway....I have only heard excellent things about it from neighbors. I've heard that the principal there is fantastic and that she was given the opportunity to hand pick her entire staff. Last year there was a very large teacher satisfaction survey conducted in Wake school and ECMS was ranked highly amongst the educators there. I also know several of the best/favorite teachers from my daughter's old middle school moved to ECMS. I also know they have a very strong and active PTA.

That said, I've not heard a single bad thing about any of the schools you are looking to choose from (and we know some other families that go to the other schools as well), so honestly I'd probably go with the home you like the most.
