I love how they were saying Rain or Shine at first - now it's been rescheduled! Are there still Irish festivities going on downtown tomorrow evening? Does anyone know? A group of this have been planning this for ages! ugh.

Well, it wasn't exactly cancelled, just postponed to March 21. I am kind of disappointed, but at the same time glad I won't be standing around out in the rain and cold. That doesn't mean that we won't have equally horrible weather next weekend, but I do have another event that I will be attending on March 21, so I probably won't get to see the whole parade.

As for festivities, Tir Na Nog's website had this to say:
Quote:
St. Patrick's Day Parade has been postponed until next week (March 21)

Don't let a little bit of Irish weather keep you indoors! We will still have Irish music during the day! The Wake Co. Pipe & Drums band will also be showing up for a few tunes!

Lives music starts at 12:30pm. Late Night Live Music: Walrus
The Hibernian was also planning some things, but their website did not acknowledge the parade postponement. I am assuming they are planning to go on as they had planned.

Not sure about Napper Tandy's either. All I know is that they all had live bands booked, so I'm sure that will still be on.

Thanks for the info. We all have plans next weekend so this weekend has to be it! I hope Napper Tandy's still has everything going on. Does anyone have tents? I haven;t been downtown for St. Patty's day in years..

I am sad they are not having it too, as this is a great parade, but was not looking forward to standing in cold rain with the kids to see it...especially as sick as everyone has been. Glad they moved it. Still will try to take the kids out for some music, though, inside.
