How are the opportunities for biking in Chapel Hill? Does anyone know of any paved bike paths in the area? If so, how long are they?

Chapel Hill and Carrboro are relatively bike friendly. Many major roads have bike lanes.

The paved bike paths in chapel hill are very short, only about 2 miles long. Decent number of big streets have bike lanes. Best biking is on country roads north and west of town.

Currently there's very good mountain biking trails near chapel hill high school (15+ miles). Sadly, alot of this will be lost in the next 15 years to Chapel Hill North, but for now it's nice.
