Default Quality Builders in Raleigh/Cary

Any of you have some builders in Raleigh/Cary that come to mind in the way of quality of construction, quality of materials, how the homes are sited (not right on top of each other), and low number of problems?

Let's use an example of 400-500k range. I've already read the Toll Brothers thread. I have rented a Toll Brothers condo here in CT when between homes, and it had some issues.

Opinions on builders welcome from those who own, and those who have toured some homes for sale in the area. Thanks in advance... I know nothing of the builders there and will eventually tour some myself, but I'd really like to know the popular opinion where the top quality is.... esp. for resale.

Thank you!

Are you looking for bigger builders like Drees, Shea, or 1st American, or smaller local builders? It will probably also make a difference what area you are looking in.

Where are you from in CT? I am from South Windsor, and keep coming across people from CT. and did again today while I was onsite in Porto Fino. He was from Milford and bought a home there in Wake Forest.
