You have to be kidding! Where's my Prescription for 'How to kill a beautiful site in 3 easy days?' Just what the area needs another 'DRUG" store that sells 'CHEAP IMPORTED GOODS' and never has whats 'ON SALE' in their weekly circular.
I guess the only positive I can see is that they do SELL DRUGS that will help one overcome any breathing problems one may encounter with the lack of good clean 'oxygenated' air that the trees will NO longer produce!
Dang it! This got me percolating so early in the AM! What a sad sad trade off for a natural area! Dang-nab-it!
That's it. How depressing. I guess having an Eckerd .5 miles down the road or 8 other drug stores within a 3.5 mile radius of that location is not enough.
I hate Walgreens for this very reason.
Zebulon is a town of about 5,000 people. For years we had two locally owned pharmacies, and a Kerr Drugs. Then Eckerds moved in, and we lost one of the local pharmacies (the owner ended up working for Eckerds). Then Kerr Drugs had to build a new, larger building and move in there. Then Rite Aid took over Eckerds, and Walgreens is building across the street, next door to the remaining mom & pop (Zebulon Drugs). It really angers me. Why does a town of 5,000 people need FOUR drug stores? I'm hoping Zebulon Drug stays in business; the owners are SO nice, and don't deserve this.

Sounds a lot like Wal Mart putting all the mom n' pop businesses out after coming into town.
I hate to see a site plowed as much as the next person, however I must say I'd rather see this area plowed and developed, where it's surrounded by other development, rather than going farther out and starting an entirely new developed area. FWIW, though, this part of town needs a gas station more than it does another pharmacy, IMHO of course.

Hmmmm.. There is a 'Wal' in common between them! Maybe they are both within the 'Wal' and everyone else is outside the 'Wal' a very sourrounding thought I suppose..... Will have to Humpty-Dumpty on this one for awhile!
Another reason to buy in an established (already built) neighborhood. At least you know what you're getting.
I'm still sad when I see Plantation Point on Capital/540. Relatives used to stay at the Plantation Inn (which was a hotel that looked like a Southern Plantation home, with big columns and all), and the grounds in the back were gorgeous. Now it's just concrete and empty stores. So sad.

Same will be true for the old Cheviot Hills golf course on Capital - soon to be a bunch more car dealerships.

Oh NO not more Capital Blvd Car Dealerships! What will we do with them, what should be done with them, will anyone ever buy a car again? When Ford buys GM will it be called GMord or G-Mor-Ford? What is common between the Cheviot Hills golf coarse and a Capital Blvd Car Dealership?
They both use to have people on them and are now both empty!
