Will this landfill affect the quality of water? IS it going to stink up the place? I have driven through Staten Island several times and the odor is AWEFUL!

When you drove through SI, the reason you smelled it so much is because the highway went right past it.

If you are around 5 miles away from living near it you are fine for the smell. But need to make sure that you are not in a traffic zone for all the garbage trucks going in and out of it. I really dont understand who will buy a 1 million dollar home in 12 oaks that is within 1 mile of the landfill?

^ Clayton can't really be in the same conversation if you work in Cary, West Raleigh, or RTP. The drive from Clayton to that side is pushing an hour, oftentimes more. Thus, the low prices.

What would the traffic from HS or Fuquay to RTP be like if you started around 6:30 AM and returned around 4:30 PM?

^ Near perfect. From HS, you'd get there right at 30 mins (maybe a hair less), and add 5-10 mins. depending on location from F-V.

We rented in Cary for two years and then moved to Apex and have lived there for 5 years. We LOVED Apex: the Peak Week in Downtown (ususally in May), July 4 parade (all residents decorated their bikes or anything and paraded in the downtown area), the easy shopping (Beaver Creek Commons now not only have Panera Bread, Lowers, SuperTarget,Linen n things, PetsMark, Movies, Circuit City etc but also KOHl's), and certainly schools. Also some other closeby activities: TeetoGo driving range, Jordan lake (20min), and strawberries picking. We just come back from picking strawberries on Hwy 751 today - juicy and yum!

Apex has to get my vote....Holly Springs is nice, but is further from Cary and is kinda out. There's a lot more to do and it's closer to everything, but Holly Springs is getting a Walmart. I suggest checking both of thme out for yourself.

you are correct we have a land fill across the bridge from trenton NJ in PA and you can smell that place in the summer for miles and it stinks I have freinds that though they where getting a good deal larger lot, bigger house than when that thing opened forget it ,they could not even try to sell there house in the summer because of the smell and people found out and they got less than they paid. The houses every where else where up over 20 % in the areas further away. I dont think they should take that risk and i have noticed alot of homes in HS for sale . I wonder why? I ft5hat thing stinks like all the ones in the north east every one who bought within a couple of miles from it are going to be very upset they have to move again and who knows what it will do to prices. You have other options I would and am avoiding HS. Better safe than sorry.
