As far as the Minority rate in the zip I would like to find a balanced part of the city to live in considering we are an interacial couple with 4 bi racial children I want them to be comfortable where ever they are.. I appreciate everyones comments keep the info coming what ever you want to tell me about the area , I love the input..
Tee Hee good for you and I wonder if people are still happy they posted as they did. What is a minority to one is family to another.

Half of the houses, are you serious? I have NEVER seen graffiti on any house in my part of 27610 (closer to downtown). I think you may be exaggerating a bit and if you aren't, please tell me what streets you are talking about as I would love to see them for myself.

Thank you,

Mike

I work a lot of nights and have no problem leaving my wife and 3 year old home alone.

The neighborhood is diverse with different ethnicities living in the area.

The only problem I have in the neighborhood right now is that I wish that people would mow their grass. Some peoples yards havent been mowed in a long while.

27610 covers a wide area covering part of downtown all the way to SE Raleigh. Yes, I am sure it has its bad areas, as well as, its good areas. My opinion of the 27610 area code is that it has homes that are affordable for the average working class family making under $100K with children.

Good luck.
I had to chuckle at this because I also live in 27610 (in Battle Ridge) and my only gripe is people not mowing their lawns!

I also live in 27610 - Battle Bridge area, never had any problems. While I am in a big subdivision, it is relatively quiet and a safe area for kids to ride to each other's homes. Take a trip and see.

I haven't been on the board for a long time and I see nothing has changed. Bashing 27610. I have lived in this zip code for 16 years in a nice tree lined subdivision. Kids play and ride bikes, people walk throughout the neighborhood on the tree lined sidewalks. I have never had an issue with crime. We live on a very diverse street--all races. As usual, people take a few bad incidents and think that an entire area of town is bad. Crime is everywhere even in your precious north Raleigh and Cary areas too. Are there areas of 27610 that I would avoid living in--absolutely--headed close to the downtown area is one of them. There are some nice areas within this zip code where people really miss out on because of posts similar to ones on this thread. Do I bash the entire zip code because of a few bad apples? No because that's crazy and not realistic. Heaven forbid you have to live near minorities. What kind of post was that to even mention race? For those asking questions about certain areas, keep in mind that this board is frequented by racist, arrogant, wealthy folks who think they are better than regular, middle class, hard working people. There is more to Wake County than North Raleigh and Cary. You have to look and decide for yourself.

Default Just a little update

I posted this it seems like years ago but I guess it wasnt..Just a little update..We actually did make the visit and eventually the move. We are not in 27610 but only for the reason that we decided to rent first before jumping into a house not being familiar with the area. We actually ended up in Knightdale and we couldnt be happier, This month will be one year since we moved and there isnt one part of the move that I regret..We are happy with the neighborhood, schools, shopping and overall we are just sooo much happier here as a family then we could have ever been in CT.
