Centex has a new community going in SW Durham called Belcrest that will be all Master down and single-levels...not sure if you're looking exclusively at Raleigh.

I toured a small Bill Clark community in Durham (Wood Chapel) and felt that the homes were on par with a ho-hum local builder - a notch below a Centex or St. Lawrence for sure.

jclarke2899 is on a distinguished road
I'm really surprised you mentioned the Bill Clark homes being a notch below Centex homes. If you compare the layouts of the homes and compare "useable space", there is no comparison. If you compare the quality of materials and options/upgrades, you'll quickly find that the Bill Clark homes contain a lot more standard items that are considered upgrades with a centex home. Look at the little things such as baseboard sizes, window casings, crown molding, wainscoating, cabinet hardware, thicker carpet and padding, sliding drawers in kitchen cabinets, etc. This is just the feeling I've gotten when looking recently. I considered Brightleaf, but I found at my price range($250-$270), the Wood Chapel community offers a much nicer home than the Standard Pacific homes. I have only found one other builder that builds a better home in the areas I'm considering, and that's HHHunt at Athens Grove near NCSU. Definitely not a cookie-cutter community. Hopefully I'll be deciding very soon on where we're moving as there are some really nice incentives right now.
