I'm sure this has been discussed, but, couldn't find what I'm looking for when I searched it..........so, sorry if I'm repeating but:
Looking for an area with several antique stores/shops in one place. Could you give me a street name in Raleigh? Durham? Or any small town within an hour of Raleigh? Have someone visiting from out-of-town & she loves to go antiquing.....I'm too new here to know where the best places are, looking for suggestions.. Thanks!
There are some antique dealers in Hillsborough as well as auction houses, but some of the shops aren't as quaint as your friend might like. Most of them are just off the 85 & Churton Street. Luckily, downtown Hillsborough is just a mile away & it's as quaint as can be, full of TONS of historical markers, restaurants, & other shops.

You can always try auctionzip.com to find something interesting to do on the weekends, there's a few auctions listed on there are auction house so they've got regularly scheduled sells.
You'd also be pleasantly surprised what people donate to thrift stores... and usually you can get a better deal on things there
There is this great place in Fuquay Varina for antiquing, it also has the most authentic Tea Room down stairs to eat. No cup, chair, or saucer are the same. My husband just loves to take our out of town guest there.
There are five or six antique shops at Five Points in Raleigh, mostly on Fairview St.
Yes, this has been called Raleigh's "Antique Row" by some folks.
