I am interested in moving to the Raleigh area in the future. I am currently a licensed professional counselor mental health service provider. LPC, MHSP. I've been trying to find out the licensing qualifications for North Carolina and although I'm sure I could find it eventually, it is quite time consuming. So I thought maybe someone on this forum could give me the answer quicker. Does NC reconize LPC, or prefer LMFT? My undergranduate work is in psychology, masters is in counseling with a focus in marriage and family. I have over 20 years experience in the field, 10 years in supervisory position and am currently clinical director over a large in-home counseling program. Any information would be helpful, or direct me to a website that covers this information for NC. Thank you!
You might try the following: NCBLPC (http://www.ncblpc.org/law.html - broken link).
These are also interesting: Mental Health Association in North Carolina, Inc. | Homepage (http://www.mha-nc.org/english/ - broken link) and triangle.com | Share (http://share.triangle.com/mentaldisorder - broken link).
If you're looking for web sites for specific agencies, feel free to let me know, as I have a list.
Best of luck!
Hi,
I noticed on this post from a couple years back you mentioned you had a list of specific mental health agencies. I am an LCSW looking to move to the Raleigh area. Do you still have a list of the agency names?

Thanks a lot in advance!

That person has only posted here twice, so probably doesn't check the boards often. I'd recommend sending them a direct message by clicking on their user name and selecting direct message on the drop down.
Hopefully they still use the same email address and you could get into touch with them that way.
