What about the homes in Brightleaf at the Park? I am not sure what the starting price is in there but the location would be convenient for both of you. I am not sure about schools but I thought they were building a new elementary school there. There are some threads about Brightleaf on here.
Grove Park, where we live, and Ravenstone could also be good options in your price range but I am unsure of the schools; hopefully somebody else can provide input.
In keeping under $200K you will get much more house for your money in E / NE Durham than you will in the Brier Creek area or Cary, which would be your other options. There may be some deals on the townhomes on Glenwood Ave heading towards Raleigh from Brier Creek but I am not too familiar with those.
