Default Good Place to have breakfast in Raleigh

We are looking for someplace different to have breakfast, maybe a diner type of restaurant. We DO NOT want to go to someplace like Dennys or IHOP. We tried Briggs already too. So...any ideas????

Big Ed's downtown for country breakfasts...love the ham biscuits.

We've enjoyed the breakfast at Flying Biscuit at Cameron Village as well. It's a bit upscale, but the white cheddar grits are fantastic.

Gateway Restaurant located in the Gateway plaza shopping center on Capital Blvd. @ Crabtree Blvd.
You MUST give this place a try either breakfast or lunch.
Also, another decent spot for breakfast and lunch is Spring Cafe located on Spring Forest Rd. just east of Atlantic Springs Rd.

Gateway is really good for breakfast or lunch. Also, The Mecca has breakfast during the week and the Player's Retreat serves an excellent breakfast all day Sunday and from 11pm-2am Thursday -Saturday.

We like Courtney's -- we go to the one on Lake Pine in Cary because it's near our house, but they have another location (or 2?) in Raleigh also.
