Great thread showing how professional the Cary PD is.
Thanks for the great info. I am so happy to see that the wonderful Cary police department investigated its own and then took appropriate steps. There are so many cities where this would not happen, where they would protect their own. God, I hope my new town's PD is half as good as Cary's.
"The Cary police department began investigating Wheeler in December. Police say they were contacted by pharmacy employees at the CVS Pharmacy at 1123 Kildaire Farm Road on Dec. 28. Cary police Capt. Michael Williams declined to discuss his investigator's findings. "We identified what happened and then turned the case over to the SBI," Williams said."

Just to clarify, the person arrested was not a Cary police officer, but state highway patrol. He lived in Cary and the crime happened in Cary.

Yes, but "their own" means the police force in general. There are a lot of places where police will make sure protecting another officer is job one. I am glad to see that Cary's officers do the right thing.

Gosh, Andy, we should all be so lucky to have own very own Barney Fife..(teary eyes)
Um, the Cary Police will arrest anyone, anytime, regardless of whether they did anything wrong or not.
