Question window tinting on a pt cruiser

I just failed my vehicle inspection for my wife's PT Cruiser for window tint that was too dark. All the windows are tinted except the windshield. All have 20%. The inspection station told me to remove from the front and rear windows (not the back hatch) to get inspection to pass. My question is this; why do I have to remove the rear window tint? The PT is considered a truck for insurance purposes because of the frame of the vehicle. I was told at the dealer that this should be considered a multi-purpose vehicle and the rear windows should be fine (for example, the Panel Cruiser has no rear windows or back hatch windows on some models). Also, since they failed me for window tint, will this show up on my next attempt to inspect at a different station?

Restrictions only apply to "Aftermarket" tints, not OEM glass.

No, it won't show up at a different station.
