Is it possible to find an older home (bungalow or similar) in Fuquay-Varina under $150,000. I've been looking lately, but most of the homes near downtown seem to be in the $160,000s and up. Just wondering if I could still find a home in the area near FV's downtown under $150,000? My husband and I just visited the area and we love the area in and around downtown--any advice or suggestions about older homes in this area/price range would be greatly appreciated. We are very handy people if a home needs minor repair. Thanks!!--Zeelee

Right now there are 55 houses for sale in Fuquay under $150,000. The big question is what's your definition of walking distance to town? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? 15 minutes?

hey,
There are 2 downtown sections in FV. As for downtown Fuquay on 401, not so much. I haven't seen too many in this area for that range but I have seen some older 50's and 60's ranches for that. Near the downtown section on Broad street (Varina), there seems to be more homes in that price range in the areas behind the downtown strip but they are not older homes in the historic sense but like 10-20 years old. I don't think you'll necessarily find a historic bungalow for this range but it doesn't hurt to look. I wouldn't give up because I think the investment potential for homes in those areas is really strong. FV is just getting off the ground with growth and is going to be really big in a few years, imo. Here are some that I found in your range even though they may not be exactly what you are looking for.

MLS # 878984
MLS # 916523
MLS # 914598
MLS # 916080

and if you can go a little over in your budget:
MLS # 918586
MLS # 920678
MLS # 922974

HTH!

And no, I'm not a realtor but I should be.
