OK Wait..Ive read posts and some have said Cary is REALLY boring....
Just HOW boring??? Im willing to have a change because if you knew what kind of life i have lived you would see its full of friends, family and the entertainment scene ( i was a working musician). I do understand it will get very quiet for me...but just HOW quiet are we talking???....
Any Cary residents wishing to share what the social life is like out there? a typical day in a young mom's suburban world? Restaurants? Shopping?

You can be as bored or as busy as you make your life to be, whether you are in Cary or anywhere else for that matter.
What are you looking for?

On a more serious note than my first post-- I live in Raleigh and when we went to visit our friends in Cary and they wanted to go out, we all drove to Raleigh. So very little nightlife. I have more than just that one experience to draw from.
Lots of ethnic food. I love the restaurants in Cary, especially Tangerine Cafe. I can't speak for shopping thought; I'll let someone else do that.

Good point and good question, NRG.
Some people carry boredom like rats carry plague.
Some people manage to be proudly bored when others find wonder and interest wherever they go.
Why someone would move to Cary, NC, or any other town in any other state, and chose to be bored is a question to which I have yet to find an answer.

Cary is far from boring. There's a ton going on, especially for families, and you're near the center of the Triangle with tons to do all around you in minutes. Restaurants, shopping, museums, kids activities, sporting events, cultural events, etc. are all available to you. Don't let the critics scare you away!

I think it just depends on what you want to be involved with and how involved you want to be. I am highly involved with things in Cary, various volunteer boards, volunteer groups, social networking groups (in real life, not online), dabble in some town politics (trying to get more involved there). Things stay busy of you want them to. I try not to limit myself to Cary with my life because Cary is not isolated from the rest of the triangle and I don't want be isolated either. So while Cary may be more quiet than Raleigh, Durham or CHapel Hill, there is nothing but I 40 stopping you from doing things there as well.

Think of Cary as a big neighborhood. When you want to go out, you leave the neighborhood, right? Cary is just like the rest of Raleigh - close to all kinds of things to do.
